Katie + Max | Chalet Event Center Wedding in Rocklin, California
Katie + Max’s wedding day at The Chalet Event Center was a celebration that had been years in the making.
Their story started with a mutual friend who set them up on a blind date at Mikuni. That first date eventually led to a trip to Portland, where Max proposed during a quiet moment with just the two of them at their hotel.
When it came time to choose their wedding date, they picked April 4 for a sweet reason—their three-year dating anniversary falls on April 6, so they loved the idea of beginning their marriage just a couple of days before another milestone in their story.
A Wedding Day That Felt Like Them
Katie + Max are happiest spending time together, whether they’re skiing, traveling, reading, or heading off on another adventure. For their wedding, they were drawn to a natural color palette of white, black, green, and blue—a combination that felt simple, classic, and perfectly suited to the day they were planning.
Throughout their wedding day, we focused on creating a mix of the moments happening naturally and the portraits we intentionally made together. I love giving couples room to actually experience their wedding while stepping in with direction when it matters, especially for portraits, family photos, and all of those little pockets of time that go by incredibly quickly.
And after getting to know Katie + Max before the wedding, it was especially meaningful to see everything finally come together and photograph the two of them as husband + wife.
